My process began with a recruiter call that covered the usual ground—why I was interested, and who I was in terms of background and experience.

After that, I moved into a technical conversation with a manager focused on the technical projects I’d worked on, with the discussion digging into what I’d actually done and why.

What surprised me was how far they went into the details. I wasn’t just asked to describe a project at a high level; the interviewer pushed into the deeper technical components and asked questions that forced me to explain decisions and tradeoffs in a lot more granularity than I expected. The overall tone stayed direct but fair, and I felt like they were trying to understand how I think when the details matter.
