Electronic Arts Software Engineer interview experience

The hardest part of my EA experience was the online test.

The programming questions felt tricky in a way that didn’t line up with what people would realistically do at work, and it left me questioning the value of the exercise.

What made it even more stressful was that the platform tracked and recorded every action I took. I kept thinking about the test itself instead of just solving, because the monitoring added a layer of pressure.

I didn’t get an offer, and overall my reflection was that the test design felt misaligned with practical software engineering rather than being a fair measurement of on-the-job ability.
