I went through a multi-manager technical process anchored on my academic background, especially my master’s thesis.

Initial HR screen — I started with an HR conversation.
Technical interviews with managers — I discussed my studies and how I work, with the master’s thesis taking center stage.
Second technical round with more managers — I continued deeper technical discussion with additional managers.
Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer; the takeaway is to be fully prepared to defend and explain your thesis work in interview terms.
