I went through a relatively standard, manageable multi-session process centered on manager discussions and resume fit over a few weeks.

Recruiter / phone screening — I had a call with HR or recruitment to align on the role.
Department head interview — I met a departmental head in the first session; the questions were mostly about my background and what was on my CV.
Overall head / GM step — I then interviewed with a higher leader (overall head of design or GM/HR), still focused on my details and confidence level.
Engineering manager phone round (alternative similar path) — In another version, after the recruiter screen, I did a second phone interview with two engineering managers. Outcome: No
