Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The interview I had felt like it split into two very different halves.

First, I got deep questions about the projects I listed on my resume, with lots of follow-ups. I was able to discuss some parts, but I wasn’t ready for several of the more detailed questions and struggled to answer them cleanly.

Then we moved into a system design problem where I had to design a load balancer for HTTPS traffic. I felt my response wasn’t strong, and I could tell as I talked that it wasn’t landing the way I hoped. I received a rejection email the next day. Overall it left me with the sense that the early project deep dive set me back, and the system design couldn’t fully rescue
