I applied through CIBC’s website, and a few days later I got an email from a recruiter to schedule a short conversation.

The next step was a 30-minute interview over Microsoft Teams with the recruiter only. It felt straightforward and low-pressure, mostly centered on my background and why I was interested.

After that recruiter call, the process didn’t feel like it dragged on too long, but I never made it to an offer from what I experienced. Overall, it was an easy first interaction that left me feeling like I understood the next checkpoint—but the journey still ended without a final decision.
