I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a multi-round format that felt progressively tougher, especially in SQL.

Aptitude test — An initial assessment to gauge general problem-solving.
Technical interview (SQL fundamentals) — I was asked easier SQL questions.
Second technical interview (SQL focus) — I was hit with more challenging SQL questions and struggled enough to feel I lost momentum.
HR round — I also went through an HR discussion afterward. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer; the takeaway is that the SQL-heavy second technical round was the deciding difficulty spike.
