I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a slow-moving process that never reached an offer due to an external freeze.

HR coordination — HR set up the interview with the hiring manager.
Hiring manager technical quiz — technical questioning plus a group interview with several other interviewers.
Extended wait — multiple weeks between steps, with an eventual message that an offer was in the works. Outcome: No offer due to a hiring freeze; the takeaway is that timing and organizational decisions can override interview performance.
