I reached out to a professor I’d worked with before, and that was essentially the entire process.

We set up a Zoom interview for later in the week, and I didn’t have to jump through a bunch of steps after that.

The interview itself was simple and direct—just a single scheduled conversation. It felt like a check-in to confirm things like whether we were aligned on timing and expectations, and whether the fit made sense based on what I’d already done. Once that happened, there wasn’t much delay before things moved forward. Getting through it felt easy because it was focused and brief, not drawn out or overly formal.
