San Jose, CAPosted Jan 2016 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a recruiter conversation and manager call, followed by a phone screen that didn’t turn into an active decision.

Recruiter screen — discussion of my background and the role.
Manager call — role alignment and setting up a technical coding exercise.
Phone tech screen (coding exercise via HackerRank invite) — I felt the interviewer was disengaged and asked generic questions.
Automated rejection follow-up — I received an automated message a few days later stating I wasn’t moving forward. Outcome: No offer; despite earlier enthusiasm from the recruiter/manager, the phone screen didn’t go well enough to progress.
