BILL Software Engineer interview experience

The interviewer sent a HackerRank prompt, I solved it, and I submitted it. A couple of days later the recruiter told me the role had already been filled, but they were still making a call as a backup if the people who were offered didn’t accept.

There wasn’t much of a real interview journey after that point—no follow-up rounds, just the sense that I was brought in too late or that the outcome was effectively decided before my submission even had time to matter. Overall it felt rushed and misaligned, and I left with a very negative impression of how the process was run.
