For this Software Engineer interview, the early coding stage felt unusually harsh and time-boxed, with a tough scoring dynamic that could penalize solutions that only pass the visible sample.

OA / coding challenge — after resume screening, I was given a two-hour Codility-based LeetCode-style challenge. The first problem required debugging with only one sample and multiple hidden cases; passing the sample didn’t guarantee points. The second problem required implementing an optimized solution for a high score, and the time limit felt tight if I hadn’t seen the pattern before. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; the experience left me feeling the technical bar and assessment fairness didn’t match what was described as the role’s level.
