I went through a three-stage Software Engineer interview where the early parts were fine, but the final systems-engineer round felt unresponsive and inconsistent.

Questionnaire screen — The first stage used a questionnaire instead of a phone screen.
Hiring manager interview — A friendly hiring manager conversation where I could also ask questions.
Final round with three systems engineers — Two engineers showed up and behaved as though they weren’t engaged; one didn’t show due to an emergency, and the questions overlapped things I’d already answered. Outcome: No offer—the takeaway was that my communication couldn’t overcome a disappointing final panel experience.
