Avalara Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Hard

Positive

New DelhiPosted Aug 2021 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had a pretty intense but well-run interview journey that moved through five rounds.

Regular feedback was provided, and the recruiter kept things moving by arranging the next steps quickly.

The technical questions were difficult, and I could tell they were looking for depth rather than surface-level answers. Even with the harder questions, the interviewers still helped in the moment, and that made the process feel more like a serious evaluation than a gotcha.

In the end I didn’t get an offer, but the overall impression was still positive: it was challenging, feedback-driven, and the pacing kept me from wondering where things stood at every step.
