Asana Software Engineer interview experience

There was one interviewer who came across as standoff-ish, which threw me off more than anything technical, but I still felt like the interview logistics and tone were mostly well handled.

The part I struggled with was the systems interview question. It was a very specific modeling problem that didn’t resemble the more general patterns I expected. Unless I’d worked on building something with that exact shape before, it was hard to recognize the pattern and come up with a decent solution. On top of that, infrastructure knowledge didn’t seem to be tested at all in that systems component, which
