My first big hurdle was an assessment step, and it set the tone for a process that felt messy and unresponsive.

I received a CodeSignal take-home style coding test and it wasn’t trivial—my result ended up being decent, and the questions themselves were on the harder side with multiple data-structure-and-algorithm prompts.

After that, communication started to fall apart. I kept trying to get clarity on next steps and even followed up to ask about retaking the test with proctoring since I’d been told it wasn’t required. I didn’t get the responsiveness I expected, and later I received an email saying everything was full, plus vague context that left me confused—especially since I’d already done the work.
