Asana Software Engineer interview experience

The tone was friendly, and I was asked to explain a piece of code and then essentially approve what I proposed. The session included a second question framed around a jigsaw puzzle.

It wasn’t an adversarial experience, and I felt comfortable talking through my reasoning. I didn’t pass the overall process, but the technical portion itself was structured and respectful enough that it felt like a genuine evaluation rather than a trick.

In the end, I left with the impression that they valued clarity of explanation, even in short, unusual problem formats.
