I attended an assessment centre that combined a short group discussion with a written exam.

The group discussion lasted about fifteen minutes, and then I had a forty-five-minute written section.

The exam wasn’t described as wildly difficult; it involved solutions around RC cantilever structures, truss analysis, and some graphic problems. Once I finished, I was able to move on rather than being stuck waiting inside the test room. I felt okay about it overall and treated the day as a chance to demonstrate my technical thinking. I didn’t receive an offer, though the workload felt contained and directly related to the kinds of problems I’d be expected to handle.
