I went through a pretty long, four-step process that dragged out over about a week for the most demanding part.

After the earlier rounds, they gave me a substantial take-home task that took me roughly a week to complete. My solution ended up working fine, but I was still cut after that.

What made it feel rough was how the questions seemed to clash with each other across the rounds. The job posting didn’t mention a Python requirement, yet I was asked whether I knew Python. I said I didn’t, and then I got a Python question and feedback that I wasn’t adequate. By the time I was eliminated, the mismatch between what they advertised and how the evaluation played out left a very unfair impression.
