Agoda Software Engineer interview experience

The first round was coding, and I did really well there. The next step was a hiring-manager conversation, and even though I felt okay walking in, it didn’t go the way I hoped—he turned me down based on my vibe.

What surprised me was that I only learned the real reason later through HR. Until then, I’d assumed it was strictly about the technical work since the coding round had gone smoothly.

I didn’t get selected, and the part that stuck with me was how much the decision apparently hinged on the interpersonal fit rather than the measurable performance in the earlier coding stage.
