Agoda Software Engineer interview experience

Posted May 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Staff Software Engineer role at Agoda, and the process didn’t end with me clearing the system design/platform round.

Before that, I had a coding stage that helped establish my baseline problem-solving ability.

The coding part wasn’t the blocker; the architecture-focused round was. I remember realizing that the expectations were higher for platform-level thinking, and I couldn’t bridge that gap during the system design discussion. The result was a rejection, and the experience mostly highlighted how decisive the system design/platform stage was for this track.
