I thought I was interviewing for an account executive–type role, but the whole thing felt like a bait-and-switch.

After I drove a long distance, I realized the real goal was recruiting sales people instead of anything that matched what I’d been led to believe. The shift made me question whether the process and the company’s communication were aligned, because I wouldn’t have made that trip if I’d known it was essentially sales recruitment.

Overall, it wasn’t an interview in the way I expected—more like being funneled into a sales pipeline. I didn’t end up moving forward, and honestly it left me sour on the company, since I used to respect them.
