After a short recruiter call, I had a technical phone screen where they framed it as something collaborative.

Honestly, it didn’t feel that way. The interviewer basically asked the problem, then mostly waited quietly while I worked, with limited back-and-forth.

The coding task itself was described as medium level, and it came with follow-up questions once I got partway through. The interviewer had a lot of follow-ups queued up, and it made the whole session feel cramped for the 60-minute window. Still, the interviewer was pleasant, and I heard back from the recruiter about a day later, so the experience ended up feeling relatively positive even though the format wasn’t what I expected.
