Affirm Software Engineer interview experience

The senior engineer was supportive and the format involved me solving a pre-coded question, which meant I could focus on completing and reasoning through something rather than starting from a blank slate.

Even though the interaction felt helpful during the session, later feedback was negative. That contrast was surprising: the call itself didn’t feel like it should’ve led to a rejection.

In the end, I didn’t move forward. The biggest takeaway for me was how quickly the tone changed once feedback came in, even after I felt supported while working through the problem.
