My experience started with a recruiter reaching out and discussing the role with very few details.

She told me there would be a screening round with the hiring manager, but scheduling dragged out for weeks—calls were canceled and rescheduled multiple times, and by the time the first screening finally landed, it had taken over six weeks.

On the day of the interview, I was told I wouldn’t actually be meeting the hiring manager and would instead speak with someone else from the team. I was disappointed because I wanted to understand the role through the person I’d be accountable to. I also asked for preparation guidance, and the advice I got was basically to be myself and keep water nearby.
