San Francisco, CAPosted Aug 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

After being referred, I went through a documented process that the recruiter shared ahead of time.

It started with a recruiter call, then moved to a hiring manager round, and then into a full mini-onsite that focused on two tracks: product sense and product execution.

The mini-onsite was where I stumbled. In the hiring manager round, the questions were mostly behavioral and leaned on “tell me about a time when…” formats, expecting STAR-style answers. Then the execution case was an RCA-style diagnosis for a drop in an e-commerce metric. The interviewer didn’t provide much context, and when I tried to clarify, I was pushed to make assumptions and keep going. That moment really threw me off
