Affirm Software Engineer interview experience

Posted Oct 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

After an initial technical screen, I ended up doing a card game style programming task over the phone.

The interviewer said it would focus on a model and implementation, and the game expanded to N players, with the details involving things like points and walls.

I ended up passing that technical screen, and the card game question itself was confirmed as part of the interview format they were running during that period. The process around it felt like a direct test of being able to implement the logic rather than just solve a single isolated problem.

Getting through that round made me feel like my approach matched what they were looking for, especially for handling a more involved problem
