What is a UX/UI Designer at Zoox?
At Zoox, a UX/UI Designer does not just design screens; you design the future of autonomous mobility. Operating at the intersection of hardware, software, and physical service design, this role is responsible for crafting the end-to-end journey of riders inside and outside of Zoox's custom-built robotaxi. Your work directly impacts how users interact with a vehicle that has no steering wheel, shaping their trust, safety, and comfort in an entirely new class of transportation.
The product ecosystem is vast and highly complex. You will design for multiple distinct touchpoints, including the consumer-facing mobile app used to hail rides, the in-cabin displays that keep passengers informed and entertained during their journey, and the complex internal tools used by teleoperations and fleet management teams to monitor vehicles in real-time. Because of this, your designs must seamlessly bridge the gap between digital interfaces and physical environments, managing complex real-time data in a way that feels simple and reassuring to the user.
This position is critical to the success of Zoox because trust is the ultimate currency in autonomous driving. A flawless user interface and intuitive interaction model are what transform a potentially intimidating technology into a safe, reliable, and delightful daily utility. You will work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment alongside product managers, hardware engineers, industrial designers, and software developers to bring these groundbreaking experiences to life.
