What is a UX/UI Designer at Umbra?
At Umbra, design is not confined to a digital screen. As a UX/UI Designer, you sit at a unique and exciting intersection of digital user experiences, packaging design, and physical product interaction. Umbra is a global leader in modern, original, and functional homeware, meaning that every digital interface, e-commerce flow, and physical packaging touchpoint you design directly impacts how millions of customers interact with the brand. Your role is highly multi-disciplinary, bridging the gap between digital utility and physical product aesthetics.
Unlike traditional software companies where UX/UI is purely digital, a UX/UI Designer at Umbra must think in three dimensions. You will contribute to projects that define how users discover, unbox, and interact with home products. This requires a deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies, physical packaging constraints, and sometimes even 3D CAD modeling. It is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with industrial designers, graphic designers, product managers, and creative directors to bring cohesive, beautiful experiences to life.
For a designer who thrives on variety, this role offers an incredibly diverse canvas. You will solve complex digital usability problems on Umbra's platforms while simultaneously ensuring that the physical unboxing experience is seamless, intuitive, and visually aligned with the brand's identity. Preparing for this role requires showcasing both your digital UX/UI framework and your appreciation for physical design and packaging.
