What is a UX/UI Designer at Reddit?
As a UX/UI Designer at Reddit, you will design experiences for one of the most visited websites in the world. Your work will directly impact how hundreds of millions of users discover, consume, and share content across tens of thousands of unique communities. This role requires a rare combination of system-level thinking and micro-interaction craft, as you will be responsible for translating highly complex, user-generated content structures into intuitive, accessible, and engaging interfaces.
Unlike traditional platforms where content is curated by algorithms, Reddit is powered by human moderation and community governance. This means your designs must accommodate diverse user behaviors, accessibility requirements, and community-specific norms. You will work on core product surfaces—such as the home feed, search, commenting systems, creator tools, or community management dashboards—where even a minor layout change can influence global user sentiment and engagement.
To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable designing at scale and navigating ambiguity. You will partner closely with engineering, product management, and data science to ship iterative improvements while championing long-term user experience visions. Reddit looks for designers who are not only exceptional visual and interaction craftsmen but also resilient thinkers who can back up their design decisions with clear, logical reasoning.
