What is a Product Manager at Raytheon?
At Raytheon (an RTX business), the Principal Integrated Product Manager is a highly specialized, mission-critical leadership role that sits at the intersection of engineering execution, financial management, and strategic program delivery. Unlike commercial software product management, this position operates within the Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) organization. You are responsible for leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams to design, develop, integrate, and maintain complex hardware and test software systems. These test systems are the backbone of production, ensuring that advanced defense technologies and military systems operate with flawless reliability.
Your impact in this role is direct and far-reaching. You will manage projects that directly support national defense and international allies, ensuring that the Unit Under Test (UUT) and Automation Test Equipment (ATE) meet rigorous military standards. By driving execution through the entire product lifecycle—from initial proposal capture to transition to production and long-term maintenance—you ensure that Raytheon delivers on its promises to the Department of Defense (DoD) and other global customers.
This role is intellectually challenging and highly collaborative. You will serve as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), partnering closely with the program office, engineering directors, and external customers. Managing these complex relationships requires a rare blend of deep technical systems engineering knowledge and robust program management discipline. It is a career-defining opportunity to solve tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
