Located a stone's throw from the Grand Canyon, Northern Arizona University (NAU) has been educating students to see forever for more than a century. About 20,000 people attend the school, which is dominated by a mountainous landscape. NAU offers roughly 100 baccalaureate, about 50 master's, and a handful of doctoral programs; undergraduate majors include exercise science, hotel and restaurant management, and visual communication. The university is also home to the High Altitude Sports Training Complex, a multi-sport training center used by athletes to prepare for different environments and enhance performance. NAU's Extended Campuses provide access to higher education for students in their own communities.
