After an initial recruiter call, I got pushed into assessments pretty quickly and then into a hiring manager conversation. The assessment was done through CodeSignal and it was more practical than classic leetcode-style problems. I remember it unlocking through multiple steps, and while I didn’t finish every stage, I still made it far enough to get to the next round. My hiring manager interview mixed a project deep-dive with behavioral prompts, including the usual “tell me about a time” style questions.
The final stage was the most intense part. I did a virtual on-site that lasted about three hours of interviews, but I spread it across two days in my schedule. There were multiple coding conversations and at least one round that leaned into senior-level territory with systems design themes—my session ended up being about improving an existing system. Throughout, the structure felt organized and respectful, and each interviewer seemed focused on how I’d work on real engineering problems, not trick questions.

My early stages moved quickly and followed a pretty standard pattern: I started with an easy recruiter screen, then I got an online CodeSignal assessment. In the recruiter call, we kept it straightforward and role-focused, and I also ended up discussing how I used AI day to day and how I balanced design work versus coding.
The CodeSignal assessment came next, and it felt like it was designed to be practical rather than purely algorithmic. One version of it was a multi-question setup where performance unlocked the next step, and while I didn’t end up passing the technical evaluation, the process itself felt smooth and well-run. Afterward, I was told there would have been additional rounds if I cleared the assessment, so the disappointment was mostly that I didn’t reach the later interviews.

Technical Interview Rounds
The technical interviews often include collaborative coding sessions where candidates fix existing code or enhance functionality, rather than solving standalone problems. Interviewers focus on real-world engineering scenarios, including debugging and API design.
