What is a QA Engineer at Impulse Space?
At Impulse Space, a QA Engineer (which spans specialized roles such as Test Engineers, Specialist, and Technicians across Avionics, Dynamics, Thermal, and Solar disciplines) is responsible for ensuring the absolute reliability of next-generation in-space transportation systems. Working on highly complex vehicles like the Helios kick stage and high-thrust tactical maneuvering spacecraft, you will be tasked with validating hardware that must survive the extreme environments of launch and deep space. Because spaceflight leaves zero margin for error, your work directly determines the success of critical orbital missions.
You will operate at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and flight operations. Unlike traditional quality assurance roles that focus solely on documentation, a QA Engineer at Impulse Space is highly hands-on, developing test setups, writing automated test sequences, and conducting environmental stress screening (ESS). You will work closely with a fast-moving, agile team of aerospace industry veterans to build, test, and fly hardware at an unprecedented pace.
This role is both challenging and deeply rewarding. You will be expected to move fast, iterate rapidly, and take ownership of complete testing lifecycles. If you thrive in high-stakes environments where your technical decisions directly impact physical spacecraft, this position offers an extraordinary level of influence and ownership.
