What is a UX/UI Designer at Hinge Health?
At Hinge Health, a UX/UI Designer (often referred to internally as a Product Designer) plays a pivotal role in pioneering the future of digital physical therapy and chronic pain management. This is not a standard SaaS or e-commerce design role; you are designing clinical-grade experiences that blend hardware sensors, computer vision, clinical expert guidance, and behavioral science. Your work directly impacts patients who may be in severe physical pain, helping them recover mobility, avoid invasive surgeries, and improve their daily quality of life.
The design team at Hinge Health tackles highly complex, multi-sided ecosystem challenges. You will design for a diverse patient demographic—many of whom are older adults or less tech-savvy—requiring an extreme dedication to accessibility, clarity, and motivational interaction design. Additionally, you will build tools for the clinical side of the platform, enabling physical therapists, physicians, and health coaches to seamlessly monitor patient progress and deliver personalized care.
This role requires a unique balance of deep user empathy, rigorous product thinking, and highly polished visual craft. By translating complex medical protocols into engaging, intuitive mobile and web experiences, you will bridge the gap between clinical efficacy and delightful consumer software.
