What is a UX/UI Designer at Committee For Children?
At Committee For Children, a UX/UI Designer plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission to foster the safety, well-being, and social-emotional development of children globally. As a research-based non-profit, our digital products—including the widely acclaimed Second Step curriculum—reach millions of children, educators, and families daily. You will be responsible for transforming complex pedagogical frameworks into intuitive, engaging, and accessible digital experiences that support both classroom instruction and remote learning.
This role is highly collaborative and sits at the intersection of education, technology, and social impact. You will design for a highly diverse user base, ranging from young children learning foundational self-regulation skills to busy educators and school administrators managing district-wide implementations. The work is both challenging and deeply rewarding, requiring a balance of rigorous user research, systemic design thinking, and a high level of empathy to ensure all digital touchpoints are inclusive and equitable.
By joining the team, you will help shape the future of social-emotional learning (SEL). Your designs will directly influence how educators teach and how children learn to navigate their emotions, build relationships, and resolve conflicts. This requires a designer who is not only technically skilled in visual and interaction design but also deeply committed to user advocacy and mission-driven work.
