The first part of my process was a Zoom call with the recruiter, followed by another call with the hiring manager.

The recruiter stuck to the typical early-contact format—mostly factual conversation with no real sales pitch about why the company or team stood out.

The hiring manager then talked through the role, but the whole exchange felt unusually emotionally flat and awkward, almost like I could sense the decision was already made. Honestly, there wasn’t much energy on either side. I left feeling like the outcome had been decided before I even walked into the interview.
