Xero Software Engineer interview experience

The coding test focused on Node.js and React, but the later technical interview felt like it had a different flavor from what the role was advertised to be—more puzzle-solving and LeetCode-style questions that didn’t connect as clearly to day-to-day web development.

After the coding, I also had an engineer manager screen that covered some of the same ground as the earlier recruiter call, which made the overall sequence feel a bit repetitive. I did get positive signals from the interviewers and the conversations were friendly and helpful, but the technical portion still didn’t land in the way
