I interviewed for a Software Engineer role at Xebia in a timeline that stretched for weeks, with an initial assignment and then an onsite code review—yet the feedback and decision came across as poorly communicated.

Recruiter/phone screening — I had a quality-focused phone call about my background and role fit.
Assignment — After about a month, I received an assignment, completed it in a few days, and submitted it.
Onsite/code review (F2F) — I was brought in to review my code; I felt the review went well.
Decision follow-up — Shortly after, HR informed me it wasn’t a positive outcome, and I felt they hadn’t reviewed the code thoroughly before inviting me. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was that the process took too long with inadequate, unclear feedback.
