Ames, IAPosted Nov 2016 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a recruiter-to-onsite sequence for a Software Engineer role where the onsite technical questions were challenging, focused on both core CS and Linux.

Recruiter + hiring manager call — conversation about my resume, projects, and experience.
Onsite (two rounds) — I interviewed with engineers and then with the hiring manager; engineers asked difficult questions covering data structures, algorithms, and specific uses of Linux systems. Outcome: I didn’t get the offer, and the overall feel was that the onsite was substantially harder than earlier stages.
