The interview I went through was informal, but it was also detailed enough that it basically took over most of the day.

I got the sense that for this kind of research-focused role, they expected a lot more than a quick conversation.

I spent the time talking through my fit for the position and getting to understand the work from the inside. A big highlight was that I got to meet the entire research team, which genuinely helped me picture what day-to-day would look like and how people interacted.

I didn’t receive an offer, but I left feeling like I had more information than I expected. The long format ended up being the main thing that determined the mood—it felt immersive rather than competitive.
