I was told reassuring things by the recruiter and expected several later steps, but I never heard back and only got an auto-rejection later.

Recruiter phone call — the recruiter told me I’d be a great fit and said they’d contact me for an in-person interview.
No follow-through — I never received the promised in-person scheduling.
Auto rejection — after a few weeks, I received an automatic rejection email, and I tried reaching out without success. Outcome: Rejected without personal follow-up; the takeaway was that the communication felt promising upfront but stalled badly.
