UBS Software Engineer interview experience

The coding portion asked for a sum that required binary search, and the intended outcome was to achieve O(log n) time complexity.

Because the constraint was tied to performance, it wasn’t enough to just find an answer—I had to align the approach with the algorithmic requirement. The combination of MCQs and that single optimized coding task made the round feel selective.

I didn’t get an offer afterward. The experience made it clear that they weren’t only looking for general familiarity; they wanted the reasoning behind the complexity to show up in how I solved it.
