San Francisco, CAPosted Jan 2018 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Twitch Software Engineer role that included a take-home coding/visual task, and the experience felt very easy in setup but frustrating in the outcome, over a relatively short timeline.

Take-home challenge — A Gulp/Redux Thunk assignment to fetch and render a list of image icons, including styling details like border radiuses; I also completed optional bonus sections. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer and was told they were moving on with other candidates without explanation, which made it feel like the take-home evaluation focused on subjective preferences as much as engineering correctness.
