My first step was a quick call with HR, followed by a video call with the hiring manager.

On the hiring manager call we covered introductions, walked through my resume and experience, discussed technical background, and then ended with a live coding question. The surprising part was that HR didn’t make it clear that a coding question would happen on the second round—it only implied it might show up somewhere later.

After the coding portion, the company actually followed up with detailed feedback on how I approached the problem. I left the process feeling like my work was reviewed thoughtfully, even though it didn’t lead to an offer.
