I passed the main coding stage quickly and finished in about fifteen minutes with all correct answers, but the experience shifted afterward.

I felt very nervous during the subsequent questions since I hadn’t been in the job market for seven years, so part of me was already bracing for a rejection.

What surprised me was how the evaluation seemed to conflict with what I actually knew. During the OOP/data-structures discussion, the feedback implied I didn’t understand OOP, and that didn’t match my background of years in OOP-heavy work. I also discussed Java Collections concepts like the Queue being part of the Collections Framework, and the interviewer pushed back in a way that felt more like disputing facts than exploring nuance.
