Toyota North America Software Engineer interview experience

The interview was very structured with a panel of about two or three people.

They first asked detailed questions about the projects and experience listed on my resume, and then they moved into a set of STAR questions.

What made it difficult was the follow-up style. I got several in-depth follow-ups that drilled deeper than the initial answers, so I had to stay consistent and clarify details without losing the STAR structure.

I didn’t get an offer, but the experience did feel rigorous and methodical. My reflection afterward was that it wasn’t just about having the story—it was about holding up under deeper questioning.
