The Zappos Family Software Engineer interview experience

The interview I went through was pretty straightforward.

I had a set of brain-teaser questions that I worked through within about 45 minutes. The difficulty landed at moderate overall: one question was about data structures, and another was more focused on basic string manipulation.

What helped was that the interviewer stayed available for questions and even guided me when I got stuck. Even with the time pressure, the experience didn’t feel hostile or overly strict. I didn’t end up selected, but it felt like a manageable screen with support built in rather than a trap.
