My interviews leaned on real-world style problems rather than classic algorithm puzzles, which I actually liked in terms of relevance.

The tricky part was that the problems had expectations that were narrowly shaped around a .NET mindset. Even when a problem seemed straightforward, it could become challenging because the interviewer would have a specific .NET approach in mind and I needed to match that framing.

That created an uneven feel: the difficulty wasn’t just about problem-solving, it was about interpreting what implementation style they expected. I left realizing I needed to be fluent not only in the general solution, but also in the particular ecosystem they were implicitly testing.
