The College Board Software Engineer interview experience

My interview process lasted a long time overall, but the actual interview difficulty felt low.

I went through a lot of questions, yet none of them were especially hard. It was the kind of experience where the volume kept coming, rather than the difficulty spiking.

What I remember most was that it didn’t feel like a deep technical challenge—more like a checklist-style pass with many questions. The timeline stretched out and, by the end, there was still no offer.

Honestly, the biggest takeaway for me was that it felt skippable compared to other opportunities. Even though it didn’t feel difficult, it cost enough time that I wouldn’t choose it again over other paths.
